The Story
Running from a privileged but toxic childhood, an anxious young woman gets caught up in the meteoric rise and nefarious downfall of a real-life sex cult – OneTaste.
The Taste, based on Anthia’s true story, exposes the anatomy of a cult and how anyone—yes, you—could fall prey. A “normal” 20-something goes from accidental recruit to unpaid franchise owner and eventual federal witness in this chaotically fast-paced dramedy set in 2013-2015 San Francisco and New York. An ensemble cast of complex female dream roles navigate the psychological/psychedelic manipulations that transform vulnerable people into devotees.
As her mind gets progressively more coopeted, Anthia—a perfect cult target: young, attractive, rich, and seeking answers—reframes unwanted sex as spiritual growth, accepts emotional and physical abuse with gratitude, and is forced to systematically replace family and friends with cult members. When escape finally seems possible, it feels like choosing death—until she finally faces her abusers in court.

Why This Story. Why Now.
OneTaste's rise was legitimized by its founder, Nicole Daedone’s, viral TEDx Talk, a Goop Podcast appearance praising them as "saviors of Female Orgasm," and Inc. Magazine's 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list. Then came a scathing Bloomberg Bloomberg article + book, a BBC Podcast, a Netflix documentary, an FBI investigation, and a federal conviction of both Nicole and her right-hand, Rachel Cherwitz.

About the Creator
Anthia Gillick is the writer, producer, and lead actor of The Taste. She is a SAG-AFTRA actor based between Los Angeles, CA and Carbondale, CO with credits on FOX, Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video. She wrote and produced The Next One, a Sci-Fi Western that was an official selection at LA Shorts International Film Festival in 2023. She has authored a book and is an experienced public speaker on her cult experience.
A Sony first-look producer, A-list talent, and several notable reps have already expressed interest in The Taste. Anthia is currently taking meetings with showrunners, co-producing partners, networks, talent, and representation aligned with the project.
